Day 3: Eindhoven

Unless you go to Eindhoven to watch football, there's every probability that you'll never set foot in this obscure place in the south of The Netherlands because, in truth, there isn't much to see here.

Built upon industrial heritage, it's where Philips was founded and it's sometimes known as Lichtstad which roughly translates to 'City of Light'. The electronics company also sponsor PSV Eindhoven and their home venue, located right in the heart of the centre, is the Philips Stadion - within really easy walking distance from the bus/rail station and most other points of interest.

Saint Catherine's church is also nearby and it towers over the city.

But, other than that, there's every chance you'll end up somewhere else in The Netherlands - most likely in Amsterdam, Rotterdam or possibly The Hague.

The purpose of my trip was to watch PSV Eindhoven against Heerenveen in the Eredivisie which actually turned out to be a really good game - it wasn't 0-0 which is always a bonus. I'll put that up in a blog post later on today, or tomorrow.

Otherwise, I'll leave you with the photos of what this city has to offer...
