Day 6: Dortmund

This will be a short post for the simple reason there isn't an awful lot here worth seeing.

Dortmund is a small 'city' (somehow it's been granted that status) which attracts many tourists because of their world-famous football team, Borussia Dortmund. The Westfalenstadion is the largest-capacity venue in the country and well worth a visit - whether it's for just a stadium tour on a non-matchday or to see a game if you're somehow able to get tickets.

However, Borussia's home ground (also known as Signal Iduna Park for sponsorship purposes) sits in relative isolation about three miles from the city centre - thus meaning if you happen to be stuck in the middle of Dortmund, then your options of what to see are severely reduced.

Next to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof/Busbahnhof is the Deutsche Fussball Museum where you'll find loads of bits and pieces of memorable associated to both the Bundesliga and the national side.

There are also lots of sculptures of concrete rhinos in random locations which, unless your eyesight is shocking, you'll keep seeing. And there's a church which you can enter for a 'small donation' and climb to the top to get a nice panoramic view of the city.

But that is literally all there is to see and if you happen to be one of those people who don't like football then the chances are you'll be bored out your brains during your time here.
